fuerte (=strong) and ventura (~happening) The island
of the Canary Islands, which have most of long and lonesome beaches
and sun most all over the year. Here are the wonderful miles long
beaches with golden sand, shifting sand dunes, crystal clear turquoise
coloured water with extremely clean and good quality.

The weather is all over the year mild. In winter time (november
- april) is rain possible, which are sometimes very strong.
One year it´s raining much - other years will have
no rain. But the weather will become better as fast it´s
became worse. Long periods of heavy weather are nearly unknown.

Some hundreds years ago there have been wood on the island. The
unlimited clearing for getting farmland and material changed the
island to a desert like landscape. But also the landscape inside
the island have a interesting and fantastic panorama, sometimes
in very special light you will feel the pieceful aura and silence.

In the tourism centre, you will find all kind of sport schools:
Golf, Riding, Sailling, Surfing, Tennis, Diving - everybody
can find his favorite. In Costa
Calma there is every year the event Surf- and Kiteworldcup.
The weather is all over the year good for swimming and sun
bathing, in winter time the water is a little bit cooler.

| How to come to Fuerteventura |
|
Many european airports offer direct flights to
the island. Season is all over the year. The pricing for flights
will differ by holiday seasons of the departure country and
other facts. Tip: Watch the pricing for a time before you book
your flight. |

You can rent a car for vacations on the island.
Between the big villages are bus lines (regular ~ every hour).
Some hotels offer also bikes for rent. |

In nearly all villages of the island are restaurants
of all categories. If you like nightlife, you should lodge in
one of this touristic places: Morro
Jable, Costa Calma
or Corralejo. Here
are Bars and Discos - often located in one of the hotels. |
